UNICEF (2005)
estimates that 60% of primary school-aged girls in Afghanistan are not enrolled
in school. If there are 2 500 000
primary school-aged girls in Afghanistan, how many are not enrolled in school?
We know that 50% of 2 500 000 is 1 250 000. We need to add another 10 %. So 10% of 2 500 000 is 250 000. Now we will combine 1 250 000 and 250 000 which equals 1 500 000.
ReplyDeleteSo, 60% of 2 500 000 is 1 500 000. That means that 1 500 000 girls in Afghanistan are not enrolled in school.
